1940s Films as Colour Posters

In the forties black and white becomes a style: hard light, deep shadows, smoke. A poster of Casablanca or Citizen Kane shows no colours in the usual sense, but the choreography of light and dark. The classic barcode looks like a sheet of music in greys. At the same time the first colour films appear, with very saturated tones that suddenly stand out on the poster. A gift for people who like talking about classics and want to know what a film from 1942 looks like when turned into colour.
