Terms and conditions

Last updated: 7 November 2026. This is a translation for your convenience; only the German version is legally binding.

§ 1 Scope

(1) These general terms and conditions apply to all orders you place with us through the online shop moviestripes at moviestripes.de.

(2) A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession (§ 13 BGB). Our offer is aimed primarily at consumers.

(3) Deviating terms of the customer do not apply unless we expressly agree to them.

§ 2 Contracting party

Your contracting party is Tristan Fischer – moviestripes, Huiskensstr. 51, 47877 Willich, Germany, email: [email protected].

§ 3 Products

(1) We sell posters that show the colours of one or more films as a graphic, optionally framed, and gift vouchers. Every poster is printed only after you order it.

(2) The colours are computed automatically from the film and prepared for print. The images in the shop are low-resolution previews with a watermark; the printed poster has no watermark. Colours on screen depend on the device and its settings and may therefore differ from the print on matte paper.

(3) The posters are our own designs. They contain no images, logos or original lettering from the films. Film titles are used only as descriptive text. We are not affiliated with the rights holders of the films.

§ 4 Conclusion of the contract

(1) The presentation of products in the shop is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to order.

(2) The ordering process: you design your poster in the configurator or choose a voucher and add it to the cart. In the cart you can change quantity and contents or remove items. On the order summary you check all details and can correct input errors at any time via "Back" or the cart. By clicking the button "Order with obligation to pay" ("Zahlungspflichtig bestellen") you make a binding offer to buy the items in the cart. You are then forwarded to our payment provider, where you also enter your delivery and billing address.

(3) We confirm receipt of your order by email without delay. The contract is concluded when we accept your order by email (order confirmation). We send the order confirmation after successful payment; the confirmation of receipt and the order confirmation may be combined in one email. If the payment is cancelled or fails, no contract is concluded. If we do not accept your offer within five days, you are no longer bound by it; any payment already made will be refunded without delay.

(4) A request via the "Request a film" form is non-binding and does not create a contract.

§ 5 Contract language and storage of the contract text

The contract language is German; the English translation of the legal texts is for information only. We store the contract text. You receive the order details, these terms and the withdrawal policy with the order confirmation by email. You can also view and save these terms on this page at any time.

§ 6 Personalisation and your content

(1) You can set the title and subtitle yourself and combine films freely. We print your texts exactly as you entered them; please check spelling and the preview before ordering.

(2) You are responsible for ensuring that your texts do not infringe third-party rights (e.g. trademark, name or personality rights) and do not violate the law. We may refuse orders with unlawful, offensive, discriminatory or infringing content; in that case we refund any payment in full.

§ 7 Prices and shipping costs

(1) All prices are final prices in euro. As a small business under § 19 UStG we do not charge VAT and therefore do not show it.

(2) Shipping costs are added: €4,90 per order, free for orders from €80. Vouchers are sent by email at no shipping cost. Details: Shipping & payment.

§ 8 Payment

(1) Payment is handled by the payment provider Stripe. The available payment methods are listed under Shipping & payment and shown in the payment step.

(2) The purchase price is due on ordering. For payment methods of third parties (e.g. pay later with Klarna) their terms, shown in the payment step, apply in addition.

§ 9 Delivery

(1) We currently deliver to addresses in Germany only. You can enter a different delivery address, e.g. to send the poster directly to the recipient of your gift.

(2) Delivery takes 3–6 working days (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays). It starts on the day after we receive payment. If we add a film to the catalogue at your request, it starts when you order the finished poster.

(3) We send vouchers as a PDF by email, usually immediately after receiving payment.

(4) Christmas order deadlines are based on the delivery time in paragraph 2 and the carrier's transit times. If it becomes apparent that we cannot meet a delivery time, we will inform you without delay.

§ 10 Retention of title

The goods remain our property until paid in full.

§ 11 Gift vouchers

(1) Vouchers are available from €25. They can be redeemed in the payment step of this shop for posters, frames and shipping, but not for buying further vouchers.

(2) Vouchers are valid for three years from the end of the year in which they were bought. If the voucher does not cover the order, you can pay the rest with another payment method. If the order value is lower than the voucher, the remaining balance stays available for further orders.

(3) Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash and bear no interest. They are transferable. We are not responsible for loss or unauthorised sharing of the voucher code unless we are at fault.

§ 12 Right of withdrawal

Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal, which does not apply to posters made to the customer's specifications. Details are in the withdrawal policy.

§ 13 Warranty

(1) The statutory warranty rights apply.

(2) Please check the goods on receipt and report transport damage, misprints or other defects by email as soon as possible, ideally with a photo. This lets us send a replacement quickly and claim against the carrier. Your statutory rights remain unaffected, even if you contact us later.

§ 14 Liability

(1) We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the Product Liability Act and to the extent of any guarantee given.

(2) For slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation (one whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely), our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.

(3) Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

§ 15 Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If you have a question or a problem, just write to us at [email protected].

§ 16 Final provisions

(1) The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not deprive them of the protection of mandatory provisions of the country in which they have their habitual residence.

(2) If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest of the contract remains valid. The statutory provisions replace the invalid provision.
