An anniversary gift: your films as a poster
Almost every couple has its films: the one from the first date, the one you argued about, the one you watch again every year. A poster made of exactly these films, with your own title, is an anniversary gift nobody else could give. Here is how to pick the films, find a title and choose the right design. Group posters with two to eight films start at €34, framed if you like.
Step 1: Choose the films
Start with the moments, not with the best films. Good candidates: the first film you watched together, the film from your first date or your first shared flat, a film you saw on holiday, and your shared favourite. Three to six films look calmest; up to eight fit on one poster.
The order can tell a story, for example chronologically by the year you watched the films. If a film is not in the catalogue you can request it; new films are usually added within 48 hours.
Step 2: Find a title
The title turns a graphic into a gift. Short and honest works better than poetic. Tried patterns: “Our films” with the year you met; “Anna & Jonas” with the wedding date; “Film nights since 2019”; or a phrase only the two of you understand.
The subtitle carries names, a date or a place, for example “Berlin · 14.02.2019”. The preview shows straight away how title and subtitle sit on the poster.
Step 3: Choose the design
There are three group designs for couples. Stacked barcodes show each film as its own block of stripes, one above the other, clear and graphic. Rings lay the films around a centre like tree rings; this looks soft and suits a spot above the sofa or bed. Ridgelines stack the films as ridges of colour, calm and modern.
Light or dark? Light posters suit bright rooms and wood, dark ones look more refined and make strong film colours glow. For an anniversary 50 × 70 cm is the most common choice; above a sofa 70 × 100 cm works well.
Step 4: Frame and timing
Framed, the poster is ready to hang right away, in black or white. Unframed, it fits a frame of your own in a standard size.
Allow about a week: delivery usually takes 3 to 6 working days. Shipping within Germany costs €4,90, free from €80.
More ideas around your films
The poster combines well: with a cinema night showing the film from your first date, with the soundtrack of your favourite film on vinyl, or with a home cinema night of exactly the films on the poster. More ideas are in our gift ideas for film lovers.
